Story —

Creation of a new and unique typeface that defines the content’s impression and effortlessly reinforces the message of the text through intentional letterform design.
Concept —

A typeface to be featured alongside installations by the 1960’s conceptual artist, Sol LeWitt, whose artistic method included crafting careful instructions that could be followed to turn his ideas into tangible work.
Process —

Analog sketches, print and distance tests, exploration of line, shape, and form for legibility, digitalized iterations, creation of “rules” to mimic LeWitt’s process and standardize the letterforms.
Result —

An experimental typeface to introduce LeWitt’s work before the exhibition is viewed as well as resurrect his concept of minimal art and the principle of ‘idea over material’.
